Re-inventing Romeo & Juliet/ Roller coasters revolution
The Re-Inventing Romeo and Juliet Project/Roller Coaster Revolution project was mainly focused around world conflicts. Each group was randomly assigned a world conflict and then they had to make a roller coaster about the conflict, and integrate the world conflict into Romeo and Juliet through different design choices. The groups also had to make an energy audit about the roller coaster and have a quick design pitch about their integration of Romeo and Juliet with their conflict to a panel of theater professionals.
My most outstanding moment during the project was the Cuban Revolution video I recorded for the design pitch. I thought I did very well editing the video and wrote a very impressive script with humor and accuracy. Also, my group was able to integrate their designs into the play, like the costumes and sound. The character choices were well thought out and had a lot of evidence to prove them. During the design pitch, we presented this to the theater professionals and they said that they thought the video was very humorous and well written. I was super proud of this part of the project, and I feel like I went above and beyond with a 7-page scene and an edited video.
Overall, My group's work was really special and I think that the panelists for the design pitch really saw that. We had our own products and then integrated them together into one. One thing we could have done better was test out the presentation, we forgot to share our video with Mr. Schwartz so our panelists had to wait to see the video. Also, they gave me feedback that I should have included more of Juliet/Cuba in our scene. But, I overall really enjoyed this project and I thought my group made some really awesome work!
